BTEC Business First Diploma

One of the courses we offer at Year 10 is BTEC in Business studies. This is a two year course where pupils are required to complete 6 assignments over the two year duration of the course. The course is monitored and assessed through continuous assessment and there is no examination.

The course provides learners with the opportunity to learn and develop their business skills in an environment where pupils are actively encouraged to learn and develop new skills such as presenting and formulating business plans. As well as learning the theory, learners also have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learnt in the classroom environment by running and operating their own businesses.

Also as part of the course learners are encouraged to become independent learners and thinkers and this helps to reinforce their learning through 'doing' and achieving positive outcomes as a result.

The BTEC first Diploma is nationally recognised throughout the UK and offers a variety of progression routes to colleges and universities or into the world of work.
