Internet safety for teachers:
E-Safety from Becta The internet is opening new opportunities for everyone, promoting creativity and effective learning. To use technology effectively requires an awareness of the benefits and risks, and an understanding of their effective use in the classroom. This section aims to highlight the safety issues and provide advice for schools on how to use technology safely.
Internet safety for parents/carers and agencies working with children:
Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) work across the UK and maximises international links to tackle child sex abuse wherever and whenever it happens. They have issued a press release as part of their Christmas 07 campaign which is specifically for parents. This looks to be an excellent resource which you can read here.
Lincolnshire County Council Red Manual Code of Practice, Section D: 11 – E-Safety: Safe use of technologies, offers a toolkit which aims to bring together research and best practice to enable individuals and agencies working with children and young people to develop effective policies / procedures and education / training to minimise the risks associated with internet use.
