The academy was established with two areas of specialism - Performing Arts and Technology, and has been exceptionally well-resourced in these areas. Although the government no longer recognises the concept of “Specialist Schools”, we have been so pleased with the contribution to whole school improvement delivered by these areas that we will continue to use the experience and skills we have developed in these areas to further the attainment of our students.

We have combined the two areas into one faculty, thus enabling students to study the Creative and Media Diploma or the Performing Arts Diploma at level 2, the Diploma in Engineering as well as a wide range of practical Technology options.

Our facilities include our own purpose-built Theatre, a TV studio/Radio station, a suite of Apple Mac computers, and CADCAM design equipment- facilities which are used for the benefit of all students and also to enable work with the local community, such as our highly-successful Christmas productions, the Young Americans and Dance Academy.

Our achievement in these areas has been recognised throughout the county, resulting in recent LAFTA awards for films produced by our students, the Lincolnshire Secondary Schools’ Challenge won by our Y8 Technology students and the appearance of our Performing Arts students on the BBC stage at the Lincolnshire Show.
