Academy Uniform

The choice of the Trent Valley Academy’s logo and uniform followed extensive consultation within the school community.

Please be aware of our Uniform policy;  where students arrive incorrectly dressed at the
Academy, we reserve the right to refuse entry.

TVA Student Dress Code

Clothing

  • Black logoed sweatshirts and white logoed polo shirts for all students in Years 7 – 9
  • Students in Years 10 and 11 can wear a black logoed v-neck top or cardigan 
  • All students are expected to wear plain black school style trousers or skirt and plain black shoes (no trainers)
  • A plain black fabric or leather belt may be  worn when used functionally 
  • Tights should be plain black 
  • Socks may be either a plain dark colour or plain white 
  • A logoed fleece jacket is also available for all year groups

PE/Games Kit

  • Black logoed polo shirt or logoed fitted top (girls)
  • Black shorts 
  • Black tracksuit bottoms 
  • Black logoed rugby shirt 
  • Plain black football socks 
  • Black or white trainers 
  • Football boots 

Jewellery

Students may wear a watch, a single plain signet ring and a pair of plain ear studs. No other jewellery is allowed. The Academy will not accept any other form of body or facial piercing.

Hair Styles and Make-Up

Whilst we wish to be tolerant of the desire of young people to express their individuality, we will not accept extremes of hairstyle in terms of cut and colour. Similarly, make-up should be used sparingly. Students wearing excessive make-up are requested to remove it.
